Here are information I am providing for people who do not know how to legalize their Police clearance for the Embassy of the UAE. After reading this small article about the steps that is required, you will see, it is pretty simple.

Certificate of good conduct

A United Arab Emirates Certificate of Good Conduct / Police Clearance is required for Canadian immigration purposes.
In order to obtain a Certificate of Good Conduct or Police Clearance in the United Arab Emirates, a Canadian fingerprint form must be legalized at the Department of Foreign Affairs, Trade and Development Canada (DFATD), and at the U.A.E. Embassy in Ottawa.

Please follow these guidelines when applying for Certificate of Good Conduct or Police Clearance:

  1. Complete a fingerprint form (Long Form) and notarize it by a Canadian Notary Public, Commissioner of Oaths or Lawyer. A Fingerprint form can be obtained from any Police station or any International Fingerprinting within Canada which is authorized by the RCMP. (Note: Do not photo copy anything at the back of the fingerprint)
  2. Submit the fingerprint form, along with IRS- Authentication Service application form for legalization.

Notary public Apostille/ Legalization/ Authentication at the capital Ottawa

IRS AUTHENTICATION SERVICE

Before the document is sent to the Ministry of the Foreign Affairs, it needs to be stamped at a Notary office if our client requires to authenticate a COPY of the document.

IRS - Authentication Service can only legalize documents with Canadian signatures. We do not review or approve a document’s content. The notary detect the document’s content if is misleading. The notary will not stamp if he or she believe that a document is to be used for a fraudulent purpose. The document will not be authenticated. You will be informed if this is the case.

Photocopies of original documents can be authenticated. However, they must be certified true copies, signed and sealed by a Canadian notary or commissioner of oaths. IRS - Authentication Service makes the photocopies and makes them properly certified, signed and sealed by a notary officer.

A copy certification is performed to confirm that a reproduction of an original document is true, exact and complete. Such originals might include college degrees, passports and other important one-and-only personal papers which cannot be copy-certified by a public record office such as a bureau of vital statistics and which the holder must submit for some purpose but does not want to part with for fear of loss.
